Hi, I’m Jess.
I'm a creative problem solvers with 15+ years of experience in design and marketing strategy.
My mission is to co.create meaningful and successful brands.
📍Las Vegas, NV
As a freelancer, I wear many hats: content creator, website developer, content strategist, copywriter, brand ambassador, ADHD coach, certified sake professional, social media manager, research moderator, deck designer, messaging strategist, list keeper.
I have been freelancing here and there for over 15 years, but have been full-time since March 2020 (thank you global pandemic). I also have 8 years of combined agency experience. In my agency life, I was responsible for launching the first pharmaceutical brands on social media (you’re welcome 🙃) including:
- the first black-box drug on Facebook (Tasigna)
- the first 2-way communication for a pharma brand on Twitter (Cosentyx)
- the first pharma brand on Tumblr (Cosentyx)
I worked closely with a team of developers and designers to implement robust FDA-compliant content strategies. I also got really savvy with legal regulations.
Prior to that, I worked as a production designer for a few in-house agencies in Las Vegas, where I designed everything from candy packaging to giant marquees on the Vegas Strip to Seattle Link train wraps. I also gained experience in content production, such as filming and photo editing.
In addition to my work experience, I have a BFA in Visual Communications from IADT and an MS in Communication Research from Boston University. During my time in Boston, I was involved in market research analysis for the PR department and have a published study: Does social media use affect journalists’ perceptions of source credibility? AEJMC. Supa, D., Zoch, L., & Scanlon, J. (2014, August). This paper won the Wilcox Award for top research paper – PR Division.
Outside of work, I’m an avid reader, playlist maker, and wanderer. I live in Las Vegas with my 2 cats and am a part-time caregiver for my grandparents. In 5 years, I hope to be living #vanlife as a permanent nomad.
I'm always excited to take on new challenges and projects, and I'm confident in my ability to deliver high-quality creative solutions that meet and exceed expectations. I call myself a “collaborative marketer” because I like to guide and assist rather than script. I’m the right fit for brands who have thoughtful leadership and know just enough about marketing to find my help useful and insightful. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or would like to discuss a potential collaboration.
